Nancy Lee Conrad
Nancy Lee Conrad, BFA, graduated from Maryland Institute of Art in 1959 after four years of classical instruction in drawing & painting from the late Jacques Maroger, former Technical Director of the Louvre. She has taught part-time at the Maryland Institute of Art, for community groups and privately in her own studio.
Her paintings have been commissioned by corporations such as Pimpernel & Lenox, & are collected throughout the United States, Europe and South America. In 1984, she & artist Melvin Miller established Conrad-Miller Studios and Gallery in the Fell’s Point community of Baltimore City where they maintained their studios, operated an art school and gallery. In 2003, after dissolving the partnership, she moved to the Broom Factory in Canton & finally to Raspeburg in northeast Baltimore.
Nancy Lee Conrad is acclaimed by many as one of Maryland’s foremost floral painters. Her work, however, includes still life, marine subjects, cityscapes & landscapes, and portraits of people & animals. She works mostly in oil.
