Starting this Spring, the Barn will be hosting one new class per season that will be more in depth in its education and construction. Learning how to design and build a piece of furniture from the first drawing to a finished piece. These multi-part classes will be designed to greatly increase ones knowledge and experience within the world of woodworking.

Learn how to cut dovetails by hand. In this class we will learn one of the most essential and daunting furniture joints- the dovetail. Using only a hand saw, chisel, and hand full of marking tools, learn how to make the beautiful and strong dovetail joint without machinery.
In this two-part class, participants will make their own cutting boards to use in their homes. Students will learn about different species of woods to use for food safe projects, how to join pieces of wood together, and different oils for sealing them.

Learn traditional woodworking with this immersive class. Students will delve into the fundamentals of craftsmanship, focusing on the mastery of hand planes, chisels, hand saws, and various hand tool woodworking techniques.
Learn the basics of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding in this make-and-take class where you’ll make a bird out of common kitchen utensils. Topics include welding safety, equipment, processes, technique, and basic metallurgical properties.
For those who have taken the intro welding class and ready for the next step! Bring your own vision and materials to weld something of your design. Maybe you have an old iron patio chair that you want to repair. Perhaps you have some scrap steel to convert into a garden sculpture to accompany your bird or dragonfly!
