MUSIC THIS WEEKEND
80s Dance Night with DJ Erik
Friday, January 17, 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Step back in time to the neon-lit era of big hair, shoulder pads, and iconic beats! DJ Eric Wenck will spin dance anthems to keep you moving all night long. Dust off your leg warmers, grab your best retro outfit, and get ready to hit the dance floor under vibrant lights and a disco ball that’ll take you straight to 1985. Let’s party like it’s the 80s!
The Barnstormers return to The Mill with a new name (formerly known as The Squeegees) and a new guitarist (the 16-year old phenom Jack Schwartzberg, who made his debut with the band during a spontaneous raucous encore at The Mill during the band’s last performance). The Barnstormers deliver a high energy live performance of creatively reimagined covers spanning the decades from The Beatles to Neil Young to R.E.M to The Decemberists.
Students will delve into the fundamentals of craftmanship, focusing on the mastery of hand planes, chisels, hand saws, and various hand tool woodworking techniques. Learn the essential skills of shaping, milling, and precision cutting all by hand, all while connecting with the rich history of woodworking.
Yoga Basics: 8 Week Series (January 23 - March 13)
Thursday, January 23
5:30 PM - 6:45 PM
Get reconnected to your body and find more happiness in your life in this 8-week series. We will explore some basic yoga philosophy, including how to work with the often-overloaded mind, burdened heart, and hurting body. Practice together in a warm and welcoming environment with an expert beginner's yoga teacher.
As a great gift or just a fun project, you can choose to make a bud vase or a candle holder on a lathe! Jim Prinkey, our talented instructor, will teach you to turn a beautiful piece of wood into a unique handmade object while learning the proper safety and operation of a lathe and related tools.
2 Day Intermediate Stained Glass Course with SmiggArt
Saturday-Sunday January 18-19
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
If you’ve taken the beginner stained glass class and loved it, this class is for you! You will design your own suncatcher or panel, complete each step of the stained glass process, and finish your piece with a lead came border and black patina.
In this class you will build and finish your very own wooden coat rack. This class is great for beginners or for someone looking to learn about wall mounted furniture.
